A Concise Textbook Of Surgery
ISBN: 978 - 81 - 905681 - 2 - 8
This textbook is a complete, comprehensive and exam-oriented one which is gradually becoming indispensable to the aspiring students. This book with approximately 1350 pages covers everything which an undergraduate student should know before appearing for final MBBS examination. It displays the whole range of modern Surgery.
This is to certify that "A Concise Textbook of Surgery" written by Dr. S. Das, son of eminent Professor Late Dr. K. P. Das, is an excellent textbook not only for the undergraduate but also for the Postgraduate Trainees and Surgeons in practice and I think this book will earn a good name in the market.
Dr. S. K. Bhattacharya, Professor & Head, Department of Surgery, Medical College, Kolkata.
It is a pleasure for me to write about “A Concise Textbook of Surgery” and “A Textbook on surgical Short Cases”, author being Dr. S. das. I have gone through the books written by Dr. S. das and found it very helpful guide for the undergraduate students and it covers the undergraduate syllabus including othopaedics of Calcutta University. As a teacher in Surgical faculty I always recommended these books to the students. “A Manual On Clinical Surgery” is the bible for medical students: – Professor D. K. Chakraborty, Prof. & Head of the Department of Surgery, R. G. Kar Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata.
“Respected Sir” I Dr. ambika Prasad Patra, MS, Lecturer, cordially welcoming you for release of your new edition of “ A Concise textbook of Surgery”. I have gone through this book which has been elegantly approached from every corner of most of the chapters. Especially the approach for chapters concerning orthopaedics and fractures is well and good. I think, in anyway, this textbook is enormously helpful for lecturing classes.” – Dr. Ambika Prasad Patra, M.K.C.G. medical College, Berhampur, Orrissa – 760 004
“Respected Sir, We are final year students at Osmania Medical college, Hyderabad. We have found all your books namely Clinical Surgery, Operative Surgery and Surgical Short Cases to be very useful (before publication of “A Concise Textbook of Surgery”). Words cannot mention the amount of respect and gratitude we have for you Sir for presenting a vast and difficult subject like Surgery in such a beautiful and lucid manner. We shall always be thankful to you Sir.” – Dipak Gowel and Kartik Kumar, 22 – 06 – 187, Pathergatti, Hyderabad 500 002.
“Respected Sir, I would like to express my heart felt gratitude for providing the medical community with such indispensable, exam-oriented and students-friendly book- ‘A Concise Textbok of Surgery’. Specially I would like to mention that plain black and white photos make the book extremely readable (unlike foreign books which have a spectrum of colours and the pages are annoyingly glossy). – Amaresh Kumar, Dr.Sampurnanand Medical College, Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Thanks for your endeavour in the field of Surgery through `A Concise Textbook of Surgery'. Before this textbook's emergence, we were following another foreign book. It is very costly and difficult to read even one round. Your Clinical Surgery, Surgical Short Cases and Operative Surgery are all excellent. Also I thank you for making surgery very very easy and interesting subject. I am a final year student of Medical College, Kottayam."

I cannot find your `A Concise Textbook of Surgery' in the market. I was looking at Cal. University questions. I found that a few answers are not given even in Bailey & Love, whereas these are well given in your first edition Textbook which is lying in our library. I am a 4th year student of Calcutta Medical College."

First of all I would like to congratulate you for bringing out `A Concise Textbook of Surgery'-an excellent book for undergraduate students like me. I am really happy that ultimately a book is there, which I am sure will benefit the students in a subject like Surgery. Also it is good to find the basic anatomy and embryology in the beginning of any topic which definitely saves time and energy. Otherwise looking for these aspects in different books becomes very difficult."
